Welcome to the political, social, educational, pictorial and videographical insights of a Detroiter transplanted to Philadelphia.
Singer, guitar player, NPR listener, teacher, coffee drinker and meditator, this tumblog lends to things from the heart.
Not a genius bar of knowledge or a bastion of clever quotes, these posts deliver the heart and soul of a citizen with a voice; a person trying to navigate an increasingly complex world.
Read and enjoy!
i plucked this piece of info from The Hill:
topics of bills that have been passed but have been stalled out in the senate: “health care reform; climate change; food safety; financial aid for the US Postal Service; a job security act for wounded veterans; a Civil War battlefield preservation act; vision care for children; the naming of a federal courthouse in Iowa after former Rep. Jim Leach (R-Iowa); a National Historic Park named for President Jimmy Carter; a bill to improve absentee ballot voting; a bill to improve cybersecurity; and the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.”
some conclusions about this, in no particular order…
- Nancy Pelosi is a badass
- Harry Reid is worthless
- the entire Senate needs to be re-elected
- Civil War battlefield preservation is played-out and SUCH a 20th century fad
- mail will only come 4 days a week before 2015
- we don’t need any new parks, because there’s too much oil in the country that we have to drill around randomly to find
- absentee ballots are perfect, that’s why our voter turnout is so awesome and the voter turnout of malta is so shitty (malta? really???)
- consumers don’t need anymore protection!
- climate change MUST be a farce
