Remembering Katrina
I just finished watching When The Levees Broke: A Requiem in 4 Acts by Spike Lee. It was incredible. Spike Lee captures 8 hours of unbelievable footage surrounding hurricane Katrina. It was riveting. I couldn’t stop watching.

Through my thoughts, I’ve come to a deep realization of the necessity for leaders to be patient, clear, reflective and forward...

simple, right?
not if you take into account the fact that the entire coal industry is only worth...

$3, i mean $8 billion
i originally wrote this post as $3 billion, but realized quickly that it was actually $8.3 billion that was negotiate. in order not to change the compassion and luster of the below, i have decided to keep it the same…. just keep it in mind that you can multiply the below by 2.76 and get the actual cost of the government’s new fad.

Growing up, reading was a focus for my father and I. we didn’t live in a home with a large library. there was no joycs, hemingway, james, or camus laying around. but, we did have some focus on reading as an important part of our relationship.
each night my dad and I would sit and read. at a young age, he would read to me. i would follow along with the words or pictures. his forefinger...
